Doctor Accused Of Selling Phentermine Unlawfully Over The Internet

A Louisville physician Dr. Tufan I. Senler was found by U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA) officials to be guilty of selling prescriptions for Phentermine, Didrex, Tenuate, Bontril and other weight loss drugs worth $20 million through his online pharmacy, Science of Better Living without proper patient evaluation. The DEA made a thorough search on Senler's Blankenbaker Parkway office in August 2005 and found 98,395 transactions over a period of 3 ½ years.
Regarding the investigation by the drug authorities against the doctor, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration(DEA) spokesman Richard Isaacson confirmed the charge against the doctor.
Senler, the accused terms the allegations leveled against him to be false and further states that he would like to voluntarily stop practicing medicine till the matter gets resolved. His lawyer, T. Wesley Faulkner states that no disciplinary action has been taken against his client and also comments that prescribing medicines through the internet is not illegal.
Regardless of the responses of Senler as well as his lawyer against the accusations, Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure has filed its own complaint against the accused stating that any disciplinary action including the revoking of license may be taken against the doctor.
