Karate Exponent Tests Positive for Phentermine
A Malaysian Karate Exponent loses his South East Asian Games medal after a year, since he was found to test positive for the slimming drug Phentermine.
In a South East Asian Games Federation Meet to discuss the schedule and the venue for the game this year, the Federation unanimously decided to withdraw the medals of three athletes, who were tested positive for different steroids and other banned substances.
A Filipino and a Laotian female Taekwondo exponent lost their gold medal and bronze medal respectively for testing positive for furosemide.
Rayner Kinsiong, a Malaysian Karate exponent won the silver medal for the 75 kg category in kumite. However he tested positive for Phentermine, the weight loss drug, leading to the stripping of his medal by the Federation. The silver medal would be shared by the two bronze medal winners.
