Online Pharmacy Workers Convicted Of Illegal Phentermine Distribution

Former internet pharmacy employees Jerry L. Lovern, 67 and Robert Barron, 36 were accused of illegally distributing the prescription drug phentermine and Ambien, a drug used for insomnia although they pleaded that they were in no way involved in the illegal drug selling. Alongside, the two pharmacy employees were also convicted of illegally distributing controlled substances while being employed at Red Mesa Pharmacy in Wichita.
The accused were freed on the deposit of $5,000 and $10,000, respectively and in conjunction with them the owner of the pharmacy, physician Wilbur D. Hilst, 75, of Wewoka, Okla., and his 76-year-old wife, Margaret Anne were also convicted on the same charges.
According to a report revealed by the government, Red Mesa Pharmacy distributed around 9,256 illegal prescriptions between Dec. 5, 2005 and March 22, 2006 with a whole lot of physicians assisting in the purpose.
