Physician Proves Guilty of Illegal Phentermine Supply
The physician Dr. Stephen Jewett, who was charged on March for trying to procure a controlled substance by fraud, recently pleaded guilty on account of supplying the weight loss drug Phentermine and the painkiller hydrocodone to patients without any apparent medical reasons.
The accused Dr. Stephen Jewett, who is on bail presently faces four years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
Dr. Jewett confessed that in between 1997 and 2005, he had procured 4,450 Phentermine dosages and 52,680 dosages of the painkiller hydrocodone.
