Player Suspended For Phentermine Intake

On account of taking the weight loss drug Phentermine without prescription, Lindsey Hunter , the point guard of Detroit Pistons was recently suspended for 10 games without pay by the NBA (National Basketball Association).The league's anti-drug program considers the diet pill Phentermine as a steroid or performance enhancing drug and as such a player who uses Phentermine for this purpose is punished with a 10-game penalty.
As his suspension took place, Hunter remarked that he was utterly shocked at the verdict and also stated that he took Phentermine from his wife who was prescribed the weight loss pill.
During his suspension, Hunter, the 36-year-old basketball player was participating in his 13 th NBA season and was a leading player of Detroit Pistons with average 4.6 points, 1.4 assists and 14 minutes in 39 games.
On being asked to pronounce his opinion on the issue, Flip Saunders, the coach of Detroit Pistons refused to comment along with stating that he would like to hear from Hunter first.
