Date: 13th April 2009
According to a striking revelation, weight loss surgery is capable of decreasing the occurrence of Type 2 diabetes in patients and altogether it can prove to be effective in enhancing fertility in individuals. However, Dr. Nicholson, weight loss surgeon from Baylor Regional Medical Centre at Plano states that obesity is considered to be one of the fundamental risk factors of Type 2 diabetes and hence weight loss surgery is likely to have a suitable impact on it.
A specific study reveals that in a period of less than two years, 62 percent people undergoing weight loss surgery had remained free from diabetes for two years after surgery and around 82 percent people had reversed their diabetes.
However, weight loss surgery is also found to enhance fertility and it has been observed that even though most of the women falling prey to obesity are not unproductive, after undergoing weight loss through weight loss surgery, women show progress in pregnancy rates and certain ovulatory functions.
Further Dr. Nicholson pronounces that weight loss surgery is capable of yielding a higher degree of emotional as well as physical well-being.
